Subject: Yet another unputdownable read
Being an avid fan of Nicci French anyway I knew I would not be dissapointed . What I really liked about this book in particular was how we were allowed to invisage the same situtations from both Astrids' angle and then the murderers' .It really does keep you guessing ,and I found myself checking back to see if the tell tale signs were in Astrids story when I was reading the murderers story.Like all Nicci French books this too was unputdownable and as usual I found myself reading it in one sitting . Having read every Nicci French except 'complicit' I can honestly say I don't have a favourite because they are all brilliant .

For me, this Nicci French story was a refreshing change from your average crime and mystery book in which a murder has occured. 'Until it's over' is the story of Astrid who has the unfortunate experience of being connected to 3 murders. She didn't do it of course, but that's not going to stop the police investigating her. Unlike other crime books, what I loved about this one was how easy it was to read and how easy it was to understand! I didn't warm to the characters as I'd normally like to, but there was nothing to dislike either. With the main character Astrid, what you saw was what you got - I could almost describe her as simple. There was nothing to figure out, and despite the killer being one of only a handful of people, there wasn't anything complicated to understand about the other characters either. Don't let the simple and easy reading tone of the novel put you off though, the tone of the novel simply makes it far easier for the reader to get lost in the story and keep the pages turning. The killer is revealed half way through the book, and when you get that far, you'll be shocked at who's in the frame simply because there are no clues within the first section of the novel to indicate who might be likely to kill or why. For me this surprise added to the appeal of the overal story - I hate nothing more than reading a novel but being able to predict the ending 100 pages in!I don't think I can fault my first Nicci French experience at all. In fact I picked another French book up in the library last week!

The book was fabulous. I listened to it on audio while driving. My husband listened as well. We both were hooked! The writing kept us wondering what was going to happen. In the end, it was spellbinding. Keep writing great books!

I'm speechless. I by chance picked this book up from a book sale, read the first page and could not (No matter how hard I tried) put it down! I haven't yet finished it but i'm sure I will within the next few hours.I've been inspired to write myself, you should continue your amazing writing until the end of time!

Hey Just wanted to say that this is the first book i ever read of yours till the end, before at school (i'm in the sixth form) i picked up, "Killing me softly" was immediatly engrossed but couldn't take it out of the libary so, when buying a book i decided to look for "Killing me softly" but could only find "untill its over" and what a book!! I have never been so engrossed and scared by what i was reading. I mean even great horror masters like Stephen King couldn't even top how scared i felt at some points in this book. After this book i have vowed to read all your other books and to finish "killing me softly". Keep up the good work!! You are really and inspirationLove from Nicola
